In Memoriam

Susann Haltermann, Founder and Director of the GEKKO Foundation, 1951-2024.

We pay tribute to the dedication and generosity of Susann Haltermann. GMO-free and ecological agriculture, risk research independent of agribusiness interests, and protecting biodiversity and the climate were core topics of Susann’s foundation work. Susann was a special benefactor: always curious, unpretentious, encouraging, benevolent, committed and inspiring – and last but not least: generous. She did not just support projects, but was also interested in the people behind them. CBAN staff was inspired by her commitment and encouraged by her support. CBAN is grateful that our work to stop GE trees is part of her legacy. Thank you for everything Susann!
