U.S. Environmental Campaigners Visit Proposed Location of Genetically Modified Atlantic Salmon Egg Production: Aqua Bounty Farms in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Location: Outside Aqua Bounty Farms research and development facility, Bay Fortune, PEI. Directions: From Charlottetown take Route 2 East towards Souris, Exit right onto Route 340, Follow signs for the Inn on Bay Fortune, At the stop sign take a right onto Route 310 across the bridge, bare left. U.S. and Canadian campaigners will visit the site that U.S. company Aqua Bounty Technologies plans to use to commercially produce genetically modified (GM) Atlantic salmon eggs. The eggs will be exported to Panama for growing out and processing, then shipped to the U.S. consumer market. Eric Hoffman and Jaydee Hanson will speak on the environmental and public health risks associated with the GM Atlantic salmon as well as the public opinion of U.S. consumers who are the first target consumer market. A request to tour the facility was not granted by Aqua Bounty.
